The Carter Company made the original luggage racks out of fir. As Classic Racks continues making luggage racks in the original tradition they can also be out of any specialty wood. Three examples of recent custom racks are shown at the left. The top rack was made out of mahogany, the middle rack was out of maple wood and the bottom was an ebony stain over fir with the wood grain still showing.
